Throughout the ski season, lifts are subjected to heavy use. Cables, springs, pulleys, and towers are exposed to  harsh winter conditions. Lift operators and maintenance crews do their best to maintain and service these lifts, but this  demanding task takes days, if not weeks, to complete. Technological advances have made it easier to spot potential issues internal to the gears and to springs previously missed by the naked eye.

UAVs mounted with high definition cameras and thermal imaging capabilities safely inspect entire lifts in a fraction of the time it takes to do this manually. Identifying problems early on with a ski lift drone inspection will reduce the chance of costly repairs and potential accidents. This will keep expenditures down, increase safety, and with regular inspections, potentially lowering insurance costs.
